PTI (Pretrial Intervention) is a program designed for first-time offenders of non-violent crimes. This program consists of counseling, education, community service work, and other requirements that the participant must complete. Successful completion of this program will allow for the arrest record to be destroyed. The goal of this program is to give first-time offenders a second chance. Offenders may participate in this program only one time.
PTI Application process and requirements
- APPLICATION: For Magistrate and Municipal cases, the offender will bring in the warrant or ticket and a non-refundable fee of $100.00 in the form of a money order only. An interview will be conducted to gather background information. For General Sessions cases, the offender will pay a $350.00 participation fee in the form of a money order only.
- APPROVAL: The PTI staff will contact all parties involved in the case for recommendations and the Solicitor will make the final decision regarding the admission to the program. If denied, the case returns to court. For Magistrate and Municipal cases, the offender must pay a $250.00 participation fee in the form of a money order only.
- COMPLETION: Upon successful completion of the assigned requirements an expungement order for the destruction of the arrest records will be processed (expungement fees apply).
